Enchanting Christmas Markets along Alsatian Canals
Have you ever dreamed of experiencing the magic of Alsatian Christmas in the heart of its markets and discover its traditions?
We have designed a brand new itinerary for you; this winter, come aboard our MS Madeleine barge,
moored in Colmar's city centre, a stone's throw from its famous and renowned Christmas market.
In 6 weeks, from November 26th, stroll along Alsace's streets and alleys and let yourself be enchanted by the
warm and magical atmosphere, as the Christmas and New Year festivities are coming.
Let your eyes glimmer as you walk though the merrily streets of Alsace and embark on a world of gourmet scents,
craft treasures and shimmering lights that unfolds around the small wooden chalets. The "Little Venice" in Colmar reveals its
shimmering colours, Kaysersberg presents its creative universe with its traditional Christmas ornaments and Riquewihr
plunges you into the historical setting of a fortified village.

Itinerary
DAY 1. COLMAR
You are welcome to board our ship at 6 p.m. We'll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail.
DAY 2. COLMAR - KUNHEIM - KAYSERSBERG - RIQUEWIHR
We'll spend the morning cruising on the forest- and pasture-lined canal from Colmar to Kunheim. Enjoy a tasting of Alsatian gingerbread on board. This afternoon, join us for an included excursion: Kaysersberg(1) and Riquewihr. We'll head to Kaysersberg for a Christmas exhibit.(1) Each year, the village goes all out showing the expanse of Alsatian Christmas decorations. Take some time getting into the Christmas spirit by admiring the meticulous, original designs straight from the creators' imaginations. Next stop is Riquewihr, a charming medieval village nestled among the vineyards, where you'll discover an authentic Christmas market in a unique setting. The bright colors of the half-timbered homes add to the postcard-like setting of traditional Alsace. Take your time wandering the cobblestone streets and admiring the marvelous decorations covering the facades and village monuments. We'll return on board the ship. Join us for an evening of Christmas tales and songs.
DAY 3. KUNHEIM - COLMAR
We'll spend the morning cruising to Colmar. Enjoy the onboard activities during this time. We'll arrive at the end of the morning. This afternoon, join us for an included excursion: Colmar. We'll set out for the center of Colmar. Your guide will first introduce you to picturesque Little Venice. The Lauch River canals wind their way through the city dotted with colorful, half-timbered homes. During the holidays, everything is decorated to the hilt. We'll then visit the Choco-Story chocolate museum, dedicated to the wonders of our favorite sweet, located in Colmar's center of the holiday activity. Warm up with a cup of delightful hot chocolate. Afterwards, spend some time strolling through the Christmas market enjoying what the ambiance has to offer– small chalets with traditional Christmas decorations and housewares, original gift ideas, and culinary specialties swathed in spicy holiday smells. We'll return on board the ship. Tonight is our festive gala evening.
DAY 4. COLMAREnjoy breakfast on board this morning before disembarking at 9:00 a.m.
MS Madeleine
A cruise aboard a canal barge promises a peaceful break where you take the time to discover “la douce France” in a different way. The MS Madeleine a true cocoon of charm, sails on the French canals and offers its passengers an original and authentic experience.
The MS Madeleine is a beautiful Premium canal barge, measuring 38,50 meters long and 5,07 meters wide. It can accommodate 22 passengers, in 11 cabins spread over two decks. The size of the cabins is 9 m2 (including a PRM cabin of 11 m2) offering amenities and providing guests with all the comforts they need during their stay. On board, everything has been taken care of down to the smallest detail and the 6 crew members guarantee a personalized service. The decoration is stylish with an elegant and intimate atmosphere. Located on the upper deck are the restaurant, which offers delicate cuisine in a refined setting, the lounge bar and a relaxation area with a jacuzzi. Comfortable sun loungers are provided on
the sun deck, the ideal place to relax and admire the surrounding landscapes. A journey aboard the MS Madeleine promises an unforgettable getaway on the water.
